How to Configure Gmail in Mac mail

Gmail provides hordes of services along with its free email account and email storage of over 5 GB is simply awesome. Mac users sometimes face difficulty setting up their Gmail account with Mac Mail. Mac mail should auto configure the Gmail for you as soon you put your email and password right. Sometimes it does not do that and that’s when you need help. To configure Gmail to Mac mail follow below steps

Open mac mail – click on the Mail tab on the top left bar- Under Mail tab click on add account- select Gmail among the options available, click continue – You’d get a field to put your Gmail username and password, fill in correct details and that’s all you need to do. However sometimes you it comes up as need more more information, thats the time when you have to configure it manually. Its not a big deal if you are a bit computer savvy. You have to configure the incoming and outgoing mail servers along with the correct port numbers for them. This information can be found under setting tab in your gmail account.
